HR Specialist
Location: 9828 E Burnside St., Suite 205, Portland, OR 97216
Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Reports to: HR Director
Salary: $26.70 to $30.71 Hourly

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting training programs that boost employee workplace performance in alliance with the organization’s core values by performing the following duties.
Job Duties:
Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Respectfully takes direction from Supervisor.
Assist with leadership training.
Conducts onboarding and new hire orientation.
Other duties as assigned.

Education + Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience working in recruiting for a nonprofit. Prefer experience in recruiting diverse candidates who may have different life experience and familiarity with issues of poverty, race, ethnicity, and the impact those issues place on day-to-day life.
